Sadly Chainsaw is history now since Death Messiah is working on other projects/bands, but still remaining is this more than enjoyable album that reflects the brutal Death Metal of the 80's, his whole label Proselytism Records is dedicated to.

Originally Chainsaw is labelled as Black Metal band and this might be correct seen lyricwise, but musically his work is undenyable influenced by underground legends such a Necrovore, Slaughter Lord or partly Sarcofago. I even think I heard a few tunes similar to the faster Torture trax on their LP, especially his vomits catch that raw feeling of the early Death Metal scene that was rising from the mid 80's underground. The guitar work appears quite solid yet highly inspired like a chainsaw ripping thru dead flesh and not a single minute boring although it's permanently thrashgrinding like Necrophagia (the true Necrophagia from L.A.) on their essential EP.
If the sound wouldn't be "to clean" sounding (don't take it too serious, it's raw shit though) for that kind of Metal you could easily label it as an 1988/89 mindripping massacre by any brazilian grinding Death/Thrash horde. There surely aren't much guys liking that kind of music but those into it won't make any mistake to check out the Chainsaw releases, the possibility to like that attack against Jesus Christ is surely higher than the low musicial quality of the usual todays gayish Black Metal you can buy at any corner.
